Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey: what to read next, and why.

Eragon Christopher Paolini 2002 · Fantasy A more recent and younger dragon-and-rider bond story that owes a lot to this book.
Fourth Wing Rebecca Yarros 2023 · Romantasy Also built around riders and their dragons, but a fast, romance-forward and far bloodier take.
The Dragonbone Chair Tad Williams 1988 · Epic fantasy A more sprawling epic if you want a bigger and more political secondary world.
